However, regardless of how safe drivers try to be, road accidents still occur. This post look at claiming compensation for a road traffic accident injury where you are partially to blame for the accident.

Claiming Compensation for a Road traffic Accident where you are Partially to Blame

You can make a claim for compensation for a personal injury if you have been involved in a road traffic accident and someone else was at fault. You can still make a claim even if you feel you were partially to blame for the accident.

Where your actions contributed to causing the accident, you can still claim compensation, however your final compensation award will be reduced to reflect this. However, depending on the severity of the accident, you may still be due a significant amount of compensation. For example, if you were due to receive an award of £100,000, but you were deemed by the court to have contributed to the cause of the accident by 25%, your award will be reduced to £75,000.

You should seek proper legal advice to find out whether you could be entitled to compensation for your accident. To find out more about making a road traffic accident compensation, read our guides here. http://www.unlockthelaw.co.uk/road-traffic-accident-claims.html
