The public interest in the changes to the drink drive limit meant that we had the busiest day ever in terms of visitors to our site.
This shows that there is a genuine demand for straightforward legal advice about issues that matter greatly to people. Our day began with The Herald leading with the story we provided to them.
Thereafter visitors to our site have read our articles, listened to our
podcast and in the most numbers read our drink driving law in Scotland guide which is intended to answer the questions you may have about the realities of the new legislation and the details of what actually occurs when you are stopped by the police and then breathalysed and charged.
As expected, figures are now coming through about the numbers of people who have been charged with drink driving since the limit change came into effect. It will be interesting to see if information is provided about the drink drive readings that are to be prosecuted – as we consider the marginal readings cases where the reading is just above the drink drive limit could be challenged in the courts.
